Outdoor LED Display

A grille display features a hollow, light-transmitting LED structure assembled from individual light bars with numerous gaps instead of a solid closed panel.

Its core strengths are ventilation, light permeability and low self-weight. When mounted on glass curtain walls, office or commercial building facades, it does not block indoor daylight. Its low wind load imposes minimal structural stress on building walls during high winds.

Visually, this screen is designed exclusively for long-distance viewing. The hollow arrangement of light bars limits pixel density; up close, gaps and individual LED bulbs become obvious with coarse image quality. For this reason, it is only used for building facade lighting and high-rise exterior advertising, not for close-range commercial video playback.

Fixed displays are the most common basic outdoor large screens, permanently installed without disassembly or relocation, and represent the mainstream for urban outdoor signage. They are split into long-distance standard models and short-distance high-definition variants based on viewing requirements.

Long-distance Fixed Display: Features larger LED chips and wider pixel pitch. It delivers intact visuals only from far away; LED grain is clearly visible at close range. Highlights include ultra-high brightness, strong anti-glare performance and excellent waterproof weather resistance. Mostly installed on rooftops, overhead gantries and large roadside billboards in suburban areas.

Short-distance High-Definition Fixed Display: Comes with densely packed LEDs and smaller pixel pitch, delivering fine image details and smooth colour gradation. Viewed from several to twenty metres away, it shows minimal pixelation for a comfortable visual experience. Widely deployed in pedestrian streets, shopping mall facades and roadside walls with heavy foot traffic and short viewing distances. Both types are for permanent fixed mounting and only differ in image quality tuned for different viewing ranges.

Conventional outdoor LED screens adopt rigid panels and can only be fitted onto flat wall surfaces. In contrast, outdoor flexible displays feature bendable modules that fit various curved and irregular shapes.

It can conform to cylindrical walls, curved corners and wavy profiles, solving the limitation of rigid panels which cannot form irregular shapes. With waterproof treatment, outdoor flexible displays can operate in open-air conditions and withstand wind, rain and sunlight exposure.

Not intended for large-scale routine ad playback, this screen type mainly builds uniquely shaped, sleek landscape large screens and custom decorative displays for personalised architectural design projects.
