Key Technical Indicators of Outdoor Transparent LED Screens: Transparency, Pixel Pitch, Wind Load, Heat Dissipation, Installation Method

When buying outdoor transparent LED screens, many clients easily look only at paper specs without understanding the indicators' impact on actual projects. Below, using the TM1000 series, we turn professional technical indicators into actionable purchasing reference, while distinguishing standard and custom pixel pitches for quick selection.
Transparency: High Transparency and Display Clarity Restrain Each Other
Transparency represents the percentage of light the screen allows to pass through, and the TM1000 transparency range is 35%-70%. The higher the transparency, the better the glass curtain wall daylighting and the less the building facade is blocked; but transparency and clarity restrain each other, and high-transparency configurations suit landmark buildings and mainly long-distance viewing projects.
For street-level close-viewing scenarios, blindly pursuing 70% high transparency gives noticeable grain, so transparency must be moderately lowered in exchange for display effects. Do not pursue the maximum transparency number alone apart from the project scenario.
Pixel Pitch: Standard Pitch First, Customize Only for Special Scenarios
Pixel pitch is the distance between the centers of two LEDs, directly determining image clarity while affecting transparency. The TM1000 standard pitch is 15.625mm vertical and 31.25mm horizontal, a universal configuration verified by many projects, balancing clarity, transparency, and cost, fitting the vast majority of curtain wall outdoor advertising, with a recommended viewing distance above 15 meters.
Custom pitch adjusts light-bar arrangement for special projects: reducing pitch raises pixel density and image delicacy, but the light-bar proportion rises and transparency falls; enlarging pitch can further raise transparency, but only suits long-distance viewing. Prioritize the standard pitch to control project cost; consider custom pitch only for close viewing or extreme transparency requirements, accepting the corresponding transparency or clarity trade-off.
Wind Load: The Hollow Light-Bar Structure Reduces Curtain Wall Wind Pressure Load
Wind load refers to the screen's ability to withstand wind. Solid large screens block all airflow, with high wind pressure. The TM1000 relies on the hollow light-bar structure so airflow passes directly through, with wind load far below traditional solid screens. For high-rise buildings and windy coastal areas, wind load is an important safety indicator; the hollow transparent screen can reduce the wind pressure load on curtain wall mullions and cut extra steel reinforcement costs, and selection must confirm the product provides wind load calculation data.
Heat Dissipation: Fanless Open Convection Reduces Later Failures
Under outdoor high temperature and sunlight, heat dissipation directly determines equipment lifespan. The TM1000 uses quality aluminum heat conduction, with the driver power supply separated from the LED light bars, paired with the hollow open structure for air convection and natural heat dissipation—a fanless design. Fan-based solutions have dust, noise, and fan aging failure risks; outdoor projects should prioritize fanless natural heat dissipation structures to reduce later failure rates.
Installation Method: Tool-Free Quick Lock, Shortening High-Altitude Work Schedules
The TM1000 uses a quick-lock modular tool-free installation mechanism, with a single cabinet assembled in as fast as 10 seconds. Curtain wall projects involve high-altitude work with high labor costs; the tool-free quick-lock structure shortens schedules, and later fault maintenance and cabinet replacement are also more convenient; avoid old structures requiring many screws tightened one by one, reducing high-altitude construction workload.
Selection cannot look at a single indicator alone; transparency, pixel pitch, project viewing distance, and building safety conditions must be assessed together, with standard pitch first and custom pitch only for special scenarios, achieving a balance of effect, safety, and cost.
