Overview of Our SMT Workshop

When clients audit LED manufacturing factories, the SMT workshop is always one of their top inspection priorities. Common product failures such as dead pixels, color inconsistency, cold solder joints and later-stage malfunctions mostly originate from SMT mounting and soldering processes. High-quality SMT processing directly determines the long-term operational stability of LED displays.

At RIGARD’s manufacturing facility, our SMT workshop features a dedicated material preparation zone for standardized storage and management of production materials. Starting from material preparation, professional soldering equipment precisely places LED beads onto PCBs to complete soldering and forming. This highly-automated workflow minimizes human-caused errors from manual operations and lays a solid foundation for subsequent module production.

We do not fully outsource our SMT mounting work to third-party contractors. By operating our own SMT production lines, we retain full in-house control over production schedules, process parameters and material quality, free from restrictions imposed by external subcontractors. Whether for large-volume standard orders or small-to-mid-size custom projects, we enable flexible production scheduling to deliver fast client response — a key operational advantage that sets us apart from large industry incumbents.

For projects such as outdoor stadium screens and outdoor advertising displays, clients are deeply concerned about dead pixels and frequent on-site repairs. Reliable mounting and soldering within SMT workflows reduce defect rates from the very beginning. Circuit boards finished by SMT then go through downstream procedures including dispensing for waterproofing, 72-hour module aging testing and full-screen inspection to ensure overall product reliability. Defects introduced at the SMT stage can hardly be offset even with thorough aging and testing further down the production chain.

We opt out of low-cost plastic cabinet solutions and focus on all-aluminum cabinets as well as fan-less and cable-free outdoor display systems. These high-reliability products demand stricter standards for PCB mounting and soldering. Our in-house SMT workshop allows us to fine-tune manufacturing processes to match our proprietary product designs, adapting to harsh outdoor operating environments and securing long-term product performance rather than competing purely on low upfront pricing.

A premium SMT production line relies not merely on high-priced machinery, but on consistent output, well-defined processes and full alignment with LED display manufacturing requirements. Our SMT workshop integrates into a complete factory-wide quality assurance system. After PCBA boards come off SMT lines, they move through automated module assembly, waterproof dispensing, 72-hour powered module aging, full-screen assembly and pre-shipment comprehensive inspection, forming a closed-loop production workflow.

Many factories own SMT equipment yet lack sufficient coordination between upstream and downstream workflows, which still results in batch-level quality failures. We closely link SMT mounting with subsequent waterproof treatment, aging tests and finished-product inspection. Every downstream procedure double-checks SMT workmanship, catching defects such as cold solder joints, component offset and polarity errors within our factory premises. This prevents defective units from being shipped to client project sites overseas.
